About
Bio
My name is Megan Stancanelli | 1994 | and I am an Italian director and artist.
Since I was a child I have been fascinated by the world of cinema and the ability of the screen to transport you into worlds created specifically to be observed.
During my high school years I started studying photography, becoming more and more passionate about the languages of Expressionism and Surrealism.
These artistic styles fit perfectly with my passion for psychology and the human mind, themes that have become central to my artistic practice.

With Theo Bazart, we wrote the Manifesto ofMetacognism, a break with a world in which appearance is becoming increasingly more important than substance.

A fundamental point in my work is the analysis of man's continuous escape from the experience of pain, without realizing that pain is an essential part of the human emotional landscape. This research is reflected in my short films, which explore the "mental rooms" of people, studying how we are, since childhood, polluted by external agents that change the objectivity of the world into subjectivity.
